Trip to Home - 3

Have you ever felt like reliving a moment all over again?

I lived in a hostel where the dorm rules specify that seniors and juniors cannot hang out together in each other’s room. I remember our wardens used to come every single night to check if any seniors were in my room especially Lalitha, she would run from my room to hers, in case any wardens came to check, or she would hide in my cupboard (she is really flexible) until the wardens left. She was not just my senior, she was more like my “all in one package” during high school which included, lots and lots of fun, general advice, studies related guidance and let’s not forget being my dance partner.

So, I got to spend my 16th night in Chennai with her and not only was it after so freaking long but we didn’t really chat or call much over the phone also, yet it felt like 2017 all over again, perhaps even better. I am sure you guys must have watched our small attempt at making a dance video on my Instagram.

Too much happiness but trust me, I am just getting started.

I received so much love from not only my friends but even from their families throughout my trip. I felt like it was my home, the people, the city, the food, everything made me happy. I am sure I am not a very good writer because I can hardly find words to express how I felt. My friends had to drop the plan of trying fancy restaurants and enjoy the typical south Indian food, I was longing for. My friends Monika and Deepica made me visit their home and honestly, I wanted to take their mothers back with me, not to Delhi (My mom cooks really well too) but to Canada. Plus, the best part was, they especially had made Murukkus for me (A south Indian, crunchy snack) (my favourite), every time my friends brought it to the hostel, I would finish the most of it.

Sometimes, A single meet with someone can impact you so deeply that you know you will never forget them. Despite meeting their families for the first time, I felt they were my own. Their hospitality, kindness, love, respect and all those kisses they gave me (I was blushing); I will never forget that, although I cannot predict the next time I’ll meet them (guessing, maybe at my friend’s wedding) but I did realize that being nice is not that hard and maybe you can be remembered by someone the way they’ll be remembered by me.

A lot of people asked me, why did I travel to Chennai all by myself just to visit my friends and school, not that any of your friends came to Delhi to meet you, but I guess I have answered them all now. I did what made me happy and I’d do it over and over again (provided timings match and I am in India) (I don’t want to be the only person roaming in Chennai, company matters dude!!).

Ps: lots and lots of love to everyone and yeah keep smiling, be happy and be good to everyone.
